Event description

Description

The North East Council for Allied Health Professions’ Research (CAHPR) is pleased to host this workshop on health and lifestyle behaviour change. To get most out of the session, the participants are encouraged to think about issues they have encountered when trying to support patients to make health and lifestyle behaviour changes.

Dr Leah Avery and Dr Darren Flynn are both Readers/Associate Professors in Long-term Health Conditions and HCPC-registered Practitioner Health Psychologists. They have extensive experience of developing and evaluating multi-faceted and multi-modal (face-to-face and digitally-delivered) health and lifestyle behaviour change interventions in collaboration with patients, their families and healthcare professionals in a range of clinical contexts (e.g. type 2 diabetes, mental health conditions, liver disease and stroke). Their clinical research has identified theory- and evidence-based behavioural strategies for impacting optimally on clinical and person-centred outcomes, including barriers and enablers to embedding behavioural interventions within clinical care pathways.
