A group learning experience utilising healthy eating principles, a cookery demo, informative talks, coaching and Q&A session.
About this event
You will discover which types of foods really nourish our bodies and brains, for better energy and mental clarity and those which don’t. You will start to understand how we can eat wiser as we grow older to reduce the likelihood of succumbing to the diseases of ageing and, importantly, how we can sustain this way of eating as an ongoing lifestyle.
What to expect:
On arrival, teas & coffees, followed by:
Two hours of informative and interactive discussion with Health Coach Lesley. We will cover the topics of ‘Mindset and Eating’, ‘Blood Sugar Management’, ‘Gut Health’ and ‘Positive Nutrition at Home’.
The discussion with be followed by a cookery demonstration from Nick Morris, the Station House Cookery School owner. He will share with you the secrets of making healthy food tasty, and the science behind this.
All the recipes are vegetarian and include wholegrains, legumes and vegetables which are the basis for the Mediterranean style diet. This way of eating is recommended by the NHS, Heart UK, Diabetes.org, Gut Health charities and weight loss professionals.
There will be plenty of time to enjoy a delicious lunch with your fellow attendees. Sampling the Mediterranean diet recipes demonstrated by Nick. The food will include a soup, a bean salad, a dip and accompaniment.
After lunch we will take a short walk, to aid digestion and get some fresh air and sunlight.
The afternoon will include a group workshop, planning your ‘best nourishing’ day and week using your new knowledge. Followed by a Q&A and coaching session.
At the end of the day, you will take away a healthy goodie bag including recipes, information handouts, and healthy treats.
