Health Data for London - Launching London’s Secure Data Environment

On Tuesday 18 November 2025, during London Life Sciences Week, London’s NHS leaders will host a high-profile event to showcase progress and commitment towards creating a world-class health data network that drives innovation and research for the benefit of London’s citizens.

This event marks the formal launch of London’s Secure Data Environment (SDE), which brings together health and care data at unprecedented scale, developed in close collaboration with patients and the public from across the capital.

Participants will hear from senior leaders across the NHS, government, academia, industry, and the public, with opportunities to explore live demonstrations, network with peers, and forge new collaborations.

Session 1: Introducing the London Secure Data Environment

9:30am – 1:00pm (followed by lunch)

Designed for data users from the NHS, academia, and industry (including pharma, biotech and the technical community), this practical session will:

· Demonstrate the SDE platform, its data assets, technology, and services

· Provide guidance on the data access process, governance, and commercial model

· Highlight real-world use cases

· Show how secure data access can drive discovery, inform commissioning, and advance population health across London and beyond.

Session 2: Partnerships for Innovation and Impact

2:30pm – 5:30pm (followed by drinks reception)

This session will bring together senior stakeholders, industry partners, researchers, innovators, citizen representatives, policy leads, and government colleagues to:

· Showcase successful data partnerships across NHS, industry, and citizens

· Share case studies from industry collaborations, data science projects, and patient/public engagement

· Highlight how London is building a trusted, collaborative health data ecosystem designed to deliver better outcomes, bold innovation, and a healthier future for every Londoner.
