About this event

Join us for the first Manchester screening of the film, followed by a Q and A with Dr Kate Yarrow, founder of Doctors for Nepal, accompanied by authentic Nepalese food, to raise funds for the good work of the charity which has just been represented on Radio 4 by Joanna Lumley, who is a Patron of the Charity.

This documentary follows a team of medical professionals from Doctors for Nepal, as they travel to the remote Karnali district in western Nepal to deliver a women’s health camp.

It is the first ever camp of its kind to be run by the charity, bringing together Nepalese doctors and nurses, all of whom are Doctors For Nepal scholarship holders, alongside the charity’s founder Dr Kate Yarrow and her NHS colleague Dr Rasana Bajracharya. Together the team delivers vital healthcare to patients in one of the most remote and inaccessible regions of the Himalayas.

The film explores the challenges that women face in their reproductive lives; in particular how these are impacted by living conditions, lack of education, and longstanding cultural beliefs
