Tackling health inequalities and demonstrating a decisive shift to prevention are priorities within Dundee's key strategic documents including the Single Outcome Agreement and IJB strategic plan. To support this, Equally Well is promoting use of the Dundee Partnership Prevention Toolkit called 'It's My Job'. The toolkit raises awareness of what preventative approaches mean and how to:
- Recognise vulnerable and at-risk individuals
- Have a positive, exploratory conversation to identify the factors affecting them
- Signpost people to supportive services and activities that could help
A half-day session has been developed aimed at a wide range of service providers and frontline staff to raise awareness of the toolkit and its contents, identify how health inequalities and deprivation may affect your client groups and in what ways, explore to what extent you are adopting preventative approaches already and recognise how you may be able to build on these to support your clients further.
