Description

Fundamentals Ltd is hosting a high-profile, one day event at the phenomenal Savoy Place in London, home to the IET. The theme for the day is the Health, Performance & Transformation of the Grid. There is a fantastic line-up of speakers and an evening dinner with further speakers.

Our industry continues to undergo change and your business model is more crucial now that it has ever been with the transformation of energy systems being a key consideration. We bring together supply chain speakers coupled with innovative networks and end users who together are creating disruptive operating models to arm you for the challenges and changes that you face.

This is an exclusive event* and we welcome the support of our partners Hive Energy, Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen and Schneider Electric, which has allowed us to make this free of charge for both the day and evening event including dinner.

Following a keynote address from Barry Hatton, Director of Asset Management at UKPN, our day will cover the following three themes:

TRANSFORMATION (FUTURE ENERGY SYSTEMS)
The grid is undergoing fundamental change in its requirements, as imposed by customers and the energy market in which it operates. The three views offered represent a disruptive energy service offering, the response from a network operator in preparing for DSO transition and the part that a manufacturer such as Fundamentals can play in helping to facilitate the transformation.

Hear from Jo Cox (Commercial Director of Hive- Centrica) with Ed Dutton (MD of British Gas Insurance), Steve Cox (Engineering Director of Electricity North West) and Dr Vincent Thornley (Technology Director at Fundamentals Ltd).

HEALTH (ASSET MANAGEMENT)
Asset Management is now firmly embedded as a discipline, which carefully evaluates to determine the optimum maintenance point. The first view will consider asset management methods of transformers, while the second offers a new preventative approach to cable fault management. The third speaker will look at a novel collaborative platform approach to asset management.

Hear from Dr Claudia Doblinger (Digital Ventures at MR), Brian Lasslett (CEO of Powerline Technologies Ltd) and Richard Haywood (MD at Doble Engineering Company).

PERFORMANCE (OPERATION)
Performance of the power system is a key focus impacting on measures and rewards. The three speakers provide views from different standpoints: one from a network operator driven by regulated price controls with ‘output’ as one of its measures; one from a private network operator who has different standards of performance; and finally the equipment supplier’s view and the cutting-edge tools that can enable networks to stay on top of performance management.

Hear from Paul Jewell (Head of Policy at Western Power Distribution), a speaker from Schneider Electric and Ian Naylor (Principal Consultant at Threepwood) with Tony Jefferson (Manager HV Consultant in Electricity at Sembcorp).
