Do you run or help out in a supervisory capacity at a community garden, growing space or other green area project? If so keeping yourself and the people around you safe is of paramount importance.

In this session or expert trainer Chris Taylor will take you through everything that you need to know about maintaining and safe working environment for everyone involved in a public or community horticultural setting. Topics covered will include:

• Site and task risk assessments
• Safe care and use of tools
• Insurance
• Planning and running sessions

Any materials will be provided but please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear as some portions of the course may be held outside and the course will go ahead regardless of weather conditions (shelter is available in cases of extreme weather).

Refreshments will be provided during any course breaks, we simply ask for a small contribution towards these.
