Health & Safety Training for School Governors - Cohort 2

Governing Bodies have an important role to play in respect of managing Health and Safety in schools. In this session a member of the Local Authority’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing team will highlight the health and safety roles and responsibilities of Governing Bodies.

This course is designed to provide advice and support to Governors, to enable them to help their school comply with their legal responsibilities.

By the end of the session, Governors will have a clear understanding of:

- the role of the Employer in managing health and safety
- Governors responsibilities for health and safety
- how health and safety law is enforced
- the importance of risk assessment
- how and where to get further advice and support
