Event description

Description

To mark our appointment as members of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Health and Wellbeing Alliance, we will be holding a briefing event in parliament to discuss Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Health and Social Care issues. Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities are known to face some of the most severe health inequalities and poor life outcomes amongst the United Kingdom population, even when compared with other ethnic minorities.

As part of our new role, we will seek to improve the inclusivity of health and social care systems, address inequalities and help Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities to achieve and maintain wellbeing. In this event, we will be providing an opportunity for policy makers, politicians, campaigners and organisations to learn about ways we can collaborate to tackle Gypsy, Roma and Traveller health and social care inequalities and to enable people to live healthy and happy lives.

In the briefing event, hosted by FFT Honorary President Baroness Janet Whitaker, particular attention will be given to the importance of engaging with the wider equality and inclusion agenda, as well as to highlighting recent concerns within Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities around Children's Services engagement.

Please note: There will be a limited amount of tickets available and they will be offered on a first-come, first served basis. Due to the limited capacity of the venue, only one ticket per organisation is permitted. We will be operating a waiting list for this event for anyone who has not been able to obtain a ticket.
