Join one of our trained Health Walk leaders for a gentle stroll around the grounds and woodlands of Bothwell Castle, whilst finding out about its history and local wildlife. This walk will be on uneven grassland and woodland paths, including a very short section on a minor road and a longer section along the Clyde Walkway.
Due to the location of the castle, which is sat upon a natural mound near the river, there will be some slopes to navigate. (Some changes to the route may occur).
This guided walk will finish by the castle’s Outerworks (approx. 100m from the car park). As a participant of this Health Walk you are welcome to visit the castle ruin after the walk, free of charge. We have a gift shop within the castle where refreshments can be bought.
Health Walks are aimed at inactive people who would benefit from doing more physical activity. This can include people who haven’t been active for a while and would like to start again, people recovering from ill health or who are managing a long-term condition, or anyone who’s been told by a health professional that they would benefit from being more active.
