Looking after your health and well-being is important all year round, but even more so during the current pandemic restrictions and colder weather. For many, we are finding the current lockdown is certainly more challenging. We’ve known for some time that the natural environment can reduce stress, lift moods and make us feel better.
In partnership with Thrive at Work, the Coventry & Warwickshire Green Business Programme are hosting a webinar on how the physical benefits from green infrastructure, active travel and green spaces can improve people’s health and well-being.
Thrive at Work will present an overview on their structured approach to workplace health and well-being, ensuring that businesses are aware of the benefits of employee well-being detailing the resources available through their programme to implement initiatives in your own workplaces.
Speakers from the Transport Team at Coventry City Council will then provide an overview on the City’s active travel plans including initiatives around improved air quality and less noise pollution. There will be an update on new cycle routes to connect the City, public realm and green space improvements, Coventry Local Air Quality Action Plan and electrification of Coventry with funding for an all-electric bus city.
Finally, there will be an update from the Green Business Programme team on the City’s green initiatives, including the development of a new climate change strategy and how we are reducing emissions through lots of innovative projects. We know people who live in the areas within our cities and towns that have more green or blue space have better mental health and we will be sharing initiatives around this as we enter the City of Culture year.
