“Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year”

Join us to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week 2018 at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford on Monday 14th May 2018.

Come and find out about local services that can help you stay well and healthy both physically and mentally.

The event is free to attend and will give you access to talk to local services about the support they can offer you at an interactive marketplace. A programme of educational workshops will also be running throughout the day (please see below).

All attendees will also receive a free goodie bag full of treats.

The event is being organised by Health in Mind (Mid Essex Improving Access to Psychological Therapies). Health in Mind provide access to a wide range of talking therapy treatments for adults with common mental health problems. Health in Mind is part of Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Mid and North East Essex Mind and Chelmsford Counselling Foundation.

Workshop Timetable

10:00am – Stress Management Workshop by Health in Mind

Stress Management Workshop that focuses on positive wellbeing and strategies for managing stress. The workshop covers areas such as: tips on having a balanced lifestyle and good sleep routine, identifying and challenging negative thoughts, and managing worry.

11:00am – Relationship and mental health by Marriage Care

The focus will be on how relationship can affect mental health and how the state of mental health can affect relationships. It will also include the importance of preparation for a marriage and understanding the impact of marriage and family on a person’s life.

12:00pm – Behavioural change for Mental Health by Fitness in Mind

The Fitness in Mind approach to creating sustainable behavioural change for better physical, mental and social health using sport and peer support.

13:00pm – Introducing the mental health peer support group by Rethink Mental Illness

The session explains the benefits of mental health peer support groups and introduces people to the idea of starting their own support group.

14:00pm – What’s self-love got to do with it? Learning Self-Acceptance by Changing Lifecourse Training and Coaching

Self-acceptance is a big part of the healing journey for those of us struggling to cope. Learn tools and techniques to begin to make peace with yourself, starting from where you are now. Gain insight into barriers you unconsciously put up and learn how to being to release the, for the next chapter of your own growth and development.

Parking at the venue is very limited and it is requested that all visitors use the nearby public car park or the park and ride service. Alternatively, Anglia Ruskin University is a short distance from the town centre which has excellent rail and bus links. More details here.
