Health & Wellbeing Network - A Walk With Bird Song
A guided meditative walk to bathe in the sounds of beautiful birdsong on International Dawn Chorus Day, Sunday May 4th.
Date and time
Location
Frome
The Bridge Frome BA11 1AR United KingdomAbout this event
- Event lasts 2 hours
Join us for this early morning (but not too early!) stroll with their jolly song - to 'be' and to listen and be soothed, and we will finish with coffee, tea and toast at the Edventure Hub, on Park Hill Drive.
Meeting altogether on The Bridge over the river in Frome Town Centre , we'll stroll together down Willow Vale to Rodden Meadow, walking gently whilst tuning in to the birdsong and our own inner stillness - being present with ourselves, each other and with nature, with times for chat and for quiet listening.
What to bring / not to bring
- Dress for the weather!
- Wear warm clothing. It can be deceptive at this time of year at dawn - hats, gloves and warm coats and footwear that you don't mind getting wet.
- Bring a blanket or something to rest or sit on if you like.
- We'd rather people didn't bring their dogs, as they can put the birds off singing if they're running about.
- Our preference is a space where mobile phone's are switched off, whilst also understanding anyone's specific needs.
Meeting Place
Come to the Bridge, over the river in Frome Town Centre (opposite Projects Cafe BA11 1AR), for a prompt 6am start - we will gather there and then set off.
We will listen / wander for an hour or so before ending back at Edventure with free hot drinks, toast and fruit as part of the event (provided through the Green & Healthy Frome climate and wellbeing programme).
Your guides
Kerryann and Elaine will be your guides, with opportunities to identify particular bird songs and calls with Elaine. Co-hosting the event are Kerry-Ann Peachey, a women's yoga and somatic practitioner and Elaine Marie Ewens, Gentle Yoga & Vedic Chanting teacher and Yoga Therapist.
We welcome all aged 18 and above. If you wish to connect around wellbeing and climate including with other health and wellbeing practitioners and facilitators, this is ideal for you - anyone interested in how we can work together to address the health of ourselves and our planet.
About the Health & Wellbeing Network
We are a growing network of practitioners, wellbeing facilitators, health professionals and community connectors. You don't need any specific skills, only the desire to grow a healthier greener community.
The network was started at Edventure's Future Shed by Kerry-Ann Peachey and has run gatheeings, meet-ups, events and activities on community wellbeing, including with other practitioners such as Better Nature, Vaishnavi Brassey and Summer Auty.
Future Shed is part of Green & Healthy Frome, a partnership programme of Edventure Frome, Frome Medical Practice and Frome Town Council taking action on health and climate funded by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund.
Future Shed is part of Edventure Frome.
Future Shed is about ideas and connections, collectives and enterprise - we support ventures to make real change around climate and wellbeing. This is a space to meet up, connect and build relationships to effect change.

Frequently asked questions
Sadly, the Edventure Hub is impossible to access for wheeled users, and we apologise for this. Due to the age and design of the building, we currently have barriers that will affect access for some. The Edventure Hub is accessed via two short flights of stairs (around 12).
Lock your bike up in town near Boyle Cross fountain - that's the closest bike lock to the bridge. There are three hoops to lock your bike to the right hand side of the entrance to Edventure's Hub.
Park in the large car park by the Cheese and Grain - that's the closest to the bridge. For Edventure, there is on street parking, and there is a small car park on the left just past the entrance to the Edventure Hub
