HealthChat with Dr Helen Stokes-Lampard
Tue 25 April 2017, 17:30 – 20:00 BST
Dr Helen Stokes-Lampard is the recently elected Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). She continues to work as GP Principal at a surgery in Lichfield and has worked within the RCGP since 2012, combining her work with being a Governor of Birmingham Women's NHS Trust.
She has been very active and visible as the face of General Practitioners since her appointment in November 2016 and faces, it seems, almost daily comment requests. What is her position on STPs? How does she see efforts to put GPs into A&E units? What are her plans for boosting the image of general practice as a great career option? Moreover, what is the future for the GP contract?
These are testing times for the health service and General Practitioners are the gate keepers for patients. Does she preside over a creeking, rusty gate or the epitome of WD40 best practice?
You get to decide at this highly topical, very current and even important HealthChat. Roy Lilley will be in the Chair and you can expect the usual insights and analysis, combined with challenges and intrigue.
Please book now for what will be a very popular evening.
