Event description

Description

Shirley Cramer CBE is Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Public Health, an organisation regularly contributing to debates and analysis across the public health spectrum. Prior to her appointment at the RSPH, she was chief executive of Dyslexia Action and Alzheimers Research and has devoted her entire career to the voluntary sector.

These are challenging times for Public Health and the enormous vista that it covers. From lobbying for drugs legislation review to making the case for a sugar tax and from provision of affordable housing to the nutritional merits of burger vans, what is the key to public health adoption? Is endless advertising a waste of time and money when focused on a public sick and tired of the 'nanny state'? Why does public health continue to be the poor relation to the NHS, when every analysis points to prevention as being the smart way to spend money in the health sector?

This will be a terrific start to the HealthChat 2018 series, sponsored by IMS Maxims, and Roy Lilley will be in the chair to explore Shirley's motivation, challenges and successes.

Please book early for what is certain to be a very popular event indeed.
