Event Details

Healthwatch Dudley is looking for volunteers
Can you spare a few hours in November or December?

Why do people go to A&E and Dudley Walk in Centre instead of visiting their own doctors surgery?  We have been asked to talk to people to find out.

As part of Dudley's urgent care consultation,  Healthwatch Dudley has been asked by Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to carry out some independent research to find out how and why people are accessing local services.

The research will take place at Russells Hall Hospital and Holly Hall Walk in centre between Friday 29th November and Thursday 5th December.  We are looking for volunteers who enjoy talking to people to join us for a few hours, between 8am & 10pm to ask patients a few simple questions.  All volunteers will receive full training, support and out of pocket expenses.

If you would like to take part, please register for this volunteer induction event where you can find out more.

During the session you will receive background information about Healthwatch Dudley and why we have been asked to give independent support to the urgent care consultation.

You will also get to practice the short questionnaire that we will be asking you to complete with patients.  The session will be friendly and informal and Healthwatch staff will be on hand to answer any questions that you might have.

If you would like to find out more, please email Ali on 01384 267427 or email: volunteer@healthwatchdudley.co.uk

What is the CCG urgent care consulation?

Local people are being asked for their views on the future of urgent care in Dudley borough.  Urgent care is for people who need medical help or advice very quickly, not emergency care which is for people who must get help or go to the hospital right away.

Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) which is made up of all 49 GP practices is holding a consultation to share their vision for the future. The consultation also covers accident & emergency, the ambulance service and the NHS 111 service. This will end on December 24th and we want as many people as possible to share their views. Find out more about the full urgent care consultation here
