Description

Official registration for this event closed at noon 22nd March 2019 . However we still have a few places left if you would still like to register. Unfortunately any special dietary requirements after noon 22nd March cannot be accommodated.

Since 2016, over 200 early years settings have participated in the East Sussex Nursery Transformation Programme; an ambitious project to help transform health and wellbeing outcomes for young children and their families - with a focus on tackling childhood obesity and promoting oral health.

East Sussex Public Health and Children’s Services are keen to celebrate and share your achievements and the successes of the East Sussex Nursery Transformation Programme and kindly invite you to join us at this FREE celebration event (healthy lunch included).

Who should attend and why?

The event is aimed at all early years settings (including settings who have not participated in the Programme), alongside key partners who work with, or provide support, to early years settings. The event will provide an opportunity for you to:

• Celebrate and share your achievements as part of the programme.

• Gain ideas from your colleagues in early years settings who have implemented a variety of innovative and effective approaches to promote physical activity, healthy eating and oral health (as part of a whole settings approach).

• Learn about the collective impact and outcomes of the Nursery Transformation Programme across East Sussex.

• Hear from international Early Years expert Kathryn Solly on ‘Promoting Challenging Physical Play Activities in your Setting.’ This keynote will further enhance your understanding of outdoor physical play via risk-taking, challenge and adventure; as well provide a range of ideas and strategies to challenge young children in their physical play outdoors using loose parts and resources. The session will also explore how to enhance and promote physicality and take those who are less confident with you.

• Hear from Reader in Psychology at Loughborough University, Dr Emma Haycraft on ‘What Works in Managing Fussy Eating.’ This keynote will help you to gain evidence based tips and tools on how to manage fussy eating within your setting, as well as how to support the families you work with to effectively tackle fussy eating and create happy mealtimes.

• Provide feedback on what further support you would like to build upon the great work you are already implementing to support the health and wellbeing of your children, staff and families.

• Network with other early years practitioners.

• Find out more about relevant national and local providers and services.

Places are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis and so please do not delay in booking your FREE place!

Please note there are only TWO conference places available per setting.

Please note: you may be subject to a £50 cancellation fee if you cancel your place within 48 hours of the event or register and do not attend on the day.

Hope you can join us!
