About this Event

Healthy Ageing Innovation and Impact Workshop 2019

Developing collaboration and impact across the Nordics, Baltics and the UK

7-8 October 2019, Mogen Dahls Concert Hall, Copenhagen

In partnership with the UK Government’s Ageing Society Grand Challenge, we are delighted to invite you to this first dialogue on Healthy Ageing Innovation and Impact. This workshop takes forward discussions at the Northern Future Forum last year, where the Prime Ministers from the Nordics, Baltics and the UK came together and identified a common set of interests, challenges and opportunities arising from ageing demographics.

What are the objectives for the workshop?

  • Develop a better understanding of the unmet needs of citizens and consumers to develop products and services that support health ageing;
  • Explore concrete opportunities and collaborations to test and trial these products and services in the ‘real world’;
  • Explore opportunities for innovation in areas including consumer goods, smart homes and multigenerational living
  • Stimulate discussions on potential approaches that will foster long term collaboration on the products and services which help us age well, for longer.

What are the benefits of attending?

  • Grow your network of innovators in the healthy ageing innovation and commercialisation space;
  • Contribute to sharing insights, practice and learning across regions and partners on innovating with citizens for healthy ageing;
  • Understand the expertise and capabilities to test and trial products and services and inform new opportunities to develop this based on individual and collective strengths.

There will be presentations by eminent experts including Prof. Tom Kirkwood, Prof. Lynne Corner and Prof. Rose Gilroy, with cross-regional perspectives through interactive sessions.

Please confirm your attendance and any special requirements by entering your details here by Friday 30 August, or kindly recommend a more appropriate contact from your organisation if you feel this is not relevant to you.

If you have any questions please contact us at NICA via email at ageinnovation@newcastle.ac.uk or telephone 0044 191 208 5208.

We look forward to working with you in Copenhagen.

Kind regards,

Prof. Patrick Bonnett
