Join us for our fourth Healthy Ageing Innovation Cluster event of 2021

Our next HAIC event takes place on Wednesday 30 June 2021, 1000-1200 on Microsoft Teams.


1000 - Welcome to attendees, introductions from Joanne Boyle and HAIC video showcase

1005 - Prof Brendan McCormack, Queen Margaret University - "Caring in a post-covid digital world – developing a progressive ecosystem of care". This presentation will explore human caring in the context of services for older people. The concepts of care and caring will be explored and the challenges of Covid to these core principles and values will be surfaced. The opportunities afforded by developments in digital health will be highlighted in the context of an ecosystem of care that maximises the potential of all older people.

1030 - Layla Robinson, Partnership and Engagement, from the University of Edinburgh - "An introduction to the Advanced Care Research Centre (ACRC) - The ACRC is a new multi-disciplinary research programme, combining research across fields including medicine and other care professions, life sciences, engineering, informatics, data and social sciences. The Centre aims to enable data-driven, personalised and affordable care that delivers independence, dignity and a high quality of life for people living in their own homes or in supported care environments.

1055 - Julia Glenn, Innovation and Design Lead UKRI - Julia will present a new funding challenge directed at our cluster members. This will be launched formally in September and to prepare our cluster for submission we will devote the HAIC session in August to a UKRI led workshop.

1`130 - Commercial Industry showcase opportunity - A 15-minute showcase opportunity which will allow 3-5 commercial attendees to showcase their company/ product/ service in a 3-minute pre-recorded video.

1145 - David Brown, Business Relationship Manager, Digital Health & Care, Digital Office for Scottish Local Government will be updating on wider Digital Office activity, and a more detailed update on the Digital Telecare Programme.

1200 - Event close

We are managing event registration through Eventbrite. We only have 70 spaces available to participate in the session so register now to ensure you don't miss out.

Registration closes on Monday 28 June 2021 at 1200.
