University of Southampton welcomes you to an information and networking event aimed at fostering academic-industry collaboration under the theme of Healthy Ageing.

You will hear the latest information from the Government's Industrial Strategy Ageing Society Grand Challenge and associated Healthy Ageing Funding Investment. With a focus on social impact and behavioural change the healthy ageing challenge asks industry and researchers to develop products and services to help people remain independent, productive, active and socially connected for longer.

Businesses will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas or challenges to our academics ranging in expertise from AI, machine learning, operational research and information systems to gerontology, psychology, physiotherapy and beyond. There will be plenty of opportunity for networking towards partnership building under the following themes:

• Transitions into and out of care

• Data and tech advances in patient access to information

• Data analytics and operational research for effective care management

• Managing common complaints of ageing

• Living well with cognitive impairment

• Creating healthy, active places

Attendees will be eligible to apply for seed funding from our internal ESRC Impact Acceleration Account to kick-start projects and build collaborative teams towards developing bids for a variety of external Healthy Ageing funding opportunities.
