The Bromley By Bow Centre’s Insights team is holding a webinar on “Healthy Communities: Material wellbeing for improved mental health”
About this event
The Bromley By Bow Centre’s Insights team is holding a free live webinar on “Healthy Communities: Material wellbeing for improved mental health” on Thursday 9th July at 12:00-13:00 BST.
Whilst many organisations and health practices have set up crisis calling processes to check up on vulnerable patients and community members, it is crucial to keep in mind people’s holistic wellbeing. It has been proven that financial problems, or other material needs also have a strong impact on physical and mental health – how are we dealing with this in times of the pandemic crisis? Many community members are experiencing new or increased material challenges, as well as mental health issues during lockdown, and may not know how to get support. How are we making sure those emerging needs are actually identified and provided for?
This webinar will focus on the need for a holistic view of people’s material needs for better wellbeing and health.
Topics will include:
What are the current needs within the community?
- How can evolving concerns within the community be identified?
- What factors do we need to take into account to identify the most vulnerable community members?
- Ensuring people are supported with their material needs for a better overall wellbeing – tackling financial, social welfare, housing and food poverty issues within the community
How can we help?
- Are the current services targeting the groups that are on the wrong side of health inequalities?
- How can we engage with the community members with emerging needs?
- Staying abreast of what is available locally and working collaboratively with other organisations
Attendees will be able to ask questions and give their opinions throughout the webinar, which aims to be less about presentations and more about interaction!
Register now, and come prepared with some ideas of questions and tips on the above topics!
