Diets are hard work. Are you anything like me and as soon as I start trying to reduce what I eat, I am thinking more about food and want to eat more, and not be deprived.... I believe completely and utterly in the importance of food as the fundamental medicine for long term health, short term recovery or just for healthy mind and body. We all need to learn and re-learn how to eat seasonally, nutritionally, sensibly and through feeling inspired. Let's get more interested in the food we are eating...where is it coming from? What has been added to it? How to get back to working with simple and beautiful ingredients....the importance of colour, texture and taste for all our senses..... the balance of vegetables, fruit, protein, carbohydrates and fats..... How to not obsess and ride the 'high/low' roller-coaster of guilt and deprivation....Food should be fun, the focus of family and friends, a time to wind down from a busy day, a celebration of beautiful ingredients. Think about your plates, your presentation and decorations..... and see if we can help you feel better in yourself..... and look after yourself and/or family well...
