Good education on the subject of relationships leaves young people better equipped to negotiate issues such as conflict and consent and are less likely to be vulnerable to abusive situations. This 3-hour training session is designed for anyone working directly with young people and aims to give professionals the support, skills and tools to deliver this education and help equip young people to have more safe, ethical and enjoyable experiences.
The aim of the training is to consider research looking into 'pleasure' and how this impacts upon Relationship and Sex Education delivery. To consider the differences between a healthy and unhealthy relationship and the impact on young people. By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
Describe different types of relationships young people may have.
Describe what attributes they believe are part of a healthy or unhealthy relationship
Identify key unhealthy behaviours
Identify myths, stereotypes and social norms in relation to sex, gender and pleasure
Identify ways of giving and receiving pleasure.
