Building child health from pre-pregnancy to 5 years together (nutrition and physical activity focus)
🕙 10am – 2pm | Thursday, 18th September 2025📍 Belle Vue Centre, Hartlepool🍽 Lunch provided – RSVP to secure your place
Join us in shaping a healthy future for Hartlepool's children. This cross-sector action workshop aims to accelerate evidence-based joined-up action on early nutrition (from pre-pregnancy to 5 years old) and physical activity, since these are key building blocks of child health locally.Who: The workshop will bring together local partnerships, leaders, organisations and people with an interest in early nutrition/physical activity or responsibility/contact with families/children from pre-pregnancy onwards.
Workshop goal: By the end of the day, together we will have developed practical, coordinated, impactful actions to give every child in Hartlepool greater opportunity for good nutrition and an active, healthy life. There will be opportunity to share and learn from local successes, co-create local solutions to challenges and shape effective next steps.
Opportunities for lasting impact: The work aligns with priorities of the Health and Wellbeing Board Strategy, Hartlepool Food Partnership and several local physical activity networks/partnerships, creating an environment that enables effective implementation of agreed action post-workshop and opportunities to showcase subsequent contributions/successes.
Outline Agenda:
10am Context & local strengths - Brief update on the current situation, opportunity to share and learn from local successes/challenges and discussion of local strengths/assets to build on or scale
11am Break
11:15am Developing local solutions to challenges together – Identifying actions to address challenges, build health and reduce inequalities around a choice of themed solution stations (e.g. pregnancy, infant feeding and food/physical activity at home, in childcare, family activities or the wider community)
12:15pm Lunch
1pm Making it happen – quick wins, action planning, support required for larger changes (and identifying ways this could be achieved), agreement of next steps and future opportunities to showcase contributions/success
2pm Finish
Please feel free to forward this information on to others who may be interested in the workshop.
Together, we can create lasting impact for Hartlepool's children—starting from the very beginning.
