A special evening event for theatre and poetry lovers.

Big Telly Theatre Company present two short pieces of theatre based on the poetry of Seamus Heaney, with sensory audio and visual experiences, and readings of a selection of Heaney’s poems.

The two plays written by Nicola McCartney – ‘Field of Vision’ and ‘Threshold’ were originally written for ‘Bog People’ (Big Telly 2009). This is an intimate experience for audience – an interactive, sharing performance event.

Directed by Zoe Seaton, Nicola McCartney’s writings weave intricate portrayals of the humanity and the landscape so beautifully and painfully captured by Heaney’s work. The performance style is sparse, intimate, evocative paying homage to Heaney’s extraordinary depiction of landscape, belonging, the domestic and the epic.

This short hour-long experience will be hosted at Bangor Carnegie Library on Monday 17 February 2020.
