We are delighted to offer this important masterclass in diuretics use in heart failure responding to feedback for more case studies after our Heart Failure Academy study days in October 2025.

Dr Kate Gatenby has a passion for integrating the management of heart failure across primary and secondary care, leading a number of cross sector projects in West Yorkshire.

During the webinar Kate will guide colleagues through starting diuretics, considering appropriate choice and initiation before moving onto monitoring and managing abnormal renal and electrolyte measurements. We’ll also consider how to navigate conversations to empower people living with heart failure to take useful measurements to support titration. We’ll also think about adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage adjustments for people living with chronic kidney disease and or frailty.

Speaker

Dr Kate Gatenby is a Consultant Cardiologist at Leeds General Infirmary specialising in heart failure diagnosis and management, echocardiography and obstetric cardiology. Kate has a particular interest in the integrated management of heart failure across primary and secondary care, identification and management of patients with advanced heart failure.
