Heart & Parcel Syrian Supper Club at The Buttery
Mon 24 April 2017, 18:00 – 23:00 BST
This April supperclub we are handing over the kitchen for the second time to Laila, one of our learners and now a dear friend of ours.
Laila is a Syrian Kurd who moved to the UK in 2013 with her family. She attended our ESOL cooking sessions in Cheetham Hill last year and has a real passion for communicating with people through language and food. She wowed diners at her first supperclub at Palate in February, and delighted customers at Levenshulme Market last year when she served up Kibbeh, traditional fried Syrian dumplings.
Heart & Parcel is proud to be bringing the best of Laila's home-cooked food to local Levenshulme restaurant, The Buttery. At Heart & Parcel we are all about exploring different kinds of dumplings from around the world. 'Middle Eastern' food is a term we think doesn't do justice to the delicious recipes from different countries, towns, citties, and households in this area. Laila's food is unique to her area, her background and her kitchen!
Our generous set menu is available here. Your evening will include a special selection of home-cooked traditional Syrian dishes, salads, sweets and of course Kibbeh.
Your ticket not only pays for ALL of these treats above, but you will also be contributing to our ongoing community projects, where we bring women from migrant communities together by making dumplings and developing ESOL skills.
We have two sittings available, 6pm and 8:30pm. The Buttery will be serving their impressive array of quality wines, beers, cocktails and hot drinks to go with your meal.
Come and join us for this unique evening!
If you have any further questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to cooking for you and talking more about what we do!
