☀️Songs of Resilience & Hope
🇨🇱Join Chilean folk artist María Adriana for an unforgettable evening of music, storytelling, and reflection. With a voice described as “tender vulnerability, a rare gift that binds audiences into a mesmerising spell”, María shares her personal journey of growing up under dictatorship in Chile, arriving in England as a refugee, and navigating anxiety, trauma, and depression.
Through heartfelt songs and captivating stories, she shows how reconnecting with her roots and embracing artistic expression became a source of healing and joy. Her insights and stories of triumph over adversity remind us that we can all find something that lights us up, brings a sense of home, and makes life feel full and meaningful.
✨ Expect poignant storytelling, sublimely beautiful Chilean folk songs, and moments of lightness and laughter that uplift and inspire.
Whether attending for the music, the stories, or the inspiration, we leave with a sense of connection, hope, and renewal.

From the first song I felt transported to a place in Chile. Even without understanding the words, the music spoke directly to my emotions.
Your voice is stunning, and with the simple guitar, it created something powerful, heartfelt and pure. I could feel the humour and cheekiness in the storytelling, which made the whole set refreshing and alive. It was more than a performance. It felt inclusive. Some of the Chilean ladies sang along in Spanish, but even without joining in I felt part of it. Folk has a way of drawing you into the journey, making it a shared experience rather than something you just watch. The joy in the room was unmistakable as people got up to dance.
The simplicity of folk is one of its greatest strengths. You do not need much more than a guitar and a good story. This felt like a celebration of that tradition and a reminder that folk is ready for a beautiful revival. The afternoon at The Better Half was beautiful, heartfelt and memorable. I left feeling uplifted and inspired, with the music still resonating in my mind. It is the kind of experience I want to return to again and again.
I saw María perform and was absolutely blown away. Her voice was stunning, her presence captivating, and the whole performance flawless. She made our night truly special. We loved every moment and can’t recommend her enough.
Your voice is very, very, very beautiful. You just turned that from a nice lunch into a really lovely lunch. It made my day, it made me feel so good. Your voice just made it a beautiful lunch. I want to bring my children to listen to you again.
