We all know how effective the Suffragettes were. But what about their non-militant sisters, the suffragists? Jane Robinson tells an inspiring and enduring story of the strength of peaceful protest.

Jane Robinson is a writer and lecturer specialising in social history through women’s eyes. This talk is based on her 10th book, Hearts and Minds, published earlier this year; she is also the author of the acclaimed ‘Bluestockings’ and ‘In the Family Way.’

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?


The entrance to Portcullis House is situated on the Victoria Embankment and the nearest tube station is Westminster (Jubilee and District lines). The entrance is marked as No 4 on this map http://www.parliament.uk/documents/facilities/maps/colmap.pdf
