Learn and explore the process of heat transfer printing onto textiles on this one day experimental workshop.
Disperse dyes and transfer papers can be applied to fabric using a heat press. You will use different methods to create surface pattern imagery and develop a range of textile samples.
You will explore use of different techniques to create imagery using hand cut stencils and hand painted imagery.
What experience do I need?
This workshop is aimed at complete beginners, although those with a prior understanding of the techniques may use the workshop to develop their skills and gain tutor advice and guidance in a friendly studio environment.
What will I make?
You will make a range of surface pattern textile samples using a variety of different methods of the heat transfer technique.

What do I need to bring?
Basic materials needed for the day will be provided, including disperse inks, transfer papers, newsprint paper, brushes, sponges etc. You are advised to bring along some plain fabrics, cotton or polyester, to use. Small fabric samples will be provided but if you wish to make larger pieces you’ll need to bring your own fabrics along.
You may also benefit from bringing along thin objects such as paper doilies, lace material, dried leaves, threads etc as these will all make great patterns.
If I can't attend can I get a refund?
We will refund you in full if you cancel no later than 7 days before the workshop. For cancellations after this period there will be no refunds issued.
