Hebden Bridge in Spring - Wild Food Forage
Sun 14 May 2017, 11:00 – 15:30 BST
Hebden Bridge is renowned for its beautiful countryside, interesting independent shops, eclectic mix of inhabitants, and much more. The town is intriguing and its surroundings are spectacular. This event is a great chance to get to know the natural scenery of the area from a different perspective. An extensive walk/forage will take us through a wooded valley up to open meadow land high above Hebden Bridge. The mixture of habitats promise to yield a wide array of exciting and delicious springtime edibles, from leaves and flowers, to nourishing underground tubers, and with a little luck, some of the finest seasonal wild mushrooms.
Following out forage we will return to the start of the walk where we will spend the remainder of the afternoon leisurely reviewing our finds, preparing and cooking up our best wild edible ingredients, and sampling a selection of wild alcoholic wines (adults only!).
This is a popular event and spaces are limited.
