Description

London Wildlife Trust is the habitat and wildlife delivery partner at Walthamstow Wetlands, responsible for working with volunteers to conserve and enhance the site's habitats for wildlife through practical conservation, surveying, education and community engagement.

Come and learn how to build hedgehog nest boxes with London Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers at Walthamstow Wetlands. Find out why hedgehogs are declining and how to help whilst contributing to the conservation of wildlife on the nature reserve. The nest boxes will be added to the reserve and provide safe nesting space for our resident hogs. Tools and guidance will be provided. Over 16s only.

Time: 16.00 – 21.30

Where: Angling Academy next to car park

16.00 tea/coffee sign up

16.15 welcome and introduction to Walthamstow Wetlands

16.30 introduction to hedgehogs and how to build a nest box

17.00 build nest boxes

19.00 food provided by London Wildlife Trust

20.00 nocturnal guided walk looking for bats and other nocturnal visitors - hopefully a hedgehog or two!

21.30 return to angling academy - event feedback form and leave
