The event will take the form of a walk and talk along some of Mike Porter's hedgerows at Porters Farm. We will be meeting at Walpole and Cookley Community Pavillion and lifts to the hedgerows will be provided.
Topics covered will include:
- Methodology of hedgerow management plans, including assessing condition, notable features and prescriptions for ongoing management.
- When to lay, coppice, gap up or plant new and how incremental cutting can improve hedgerow condition.
- The various grant options currently on offer and factors to consider when planting new hedges.
Please arrive from 1:30pm for a 2pm start. See below for additional directions to the pavillion and parking (the above map will take you to the road, and the below details to the venue).
Tea, coffee and local cakes and sausage rolls will be provided!
