Description

“I hate these blurred lines!”

Hedonist is a poetry workshop about blurred lines, sex and power.

Hedonist is a poetry project supported by Arts Council England, Arts Council Malta and the Barbican Arts Centre

led by artist Laura Wyatt O'Keeffe.

Laura is currently working with mentors Jacob Sam La Rose and Bryony Kimmings to explore “blurred lines”, sexual harassment and the word “victim” through poetry and performance.

The Workshop

  • Workshop One (10.30am) is for women who have experiences sexual harassment.
  • Workshop Two (2.30pm) is for women who have experienced sexual abuse.
  • Both workshops are for self-identifying women and is welcoming of transwomen.
    Each participant will bring a song or poem and newspaper article to share with the group and to work with throughout the sessions. The exercises will explore personal narrative, “roles” within that narrative and perspective.

No previous experience of writing, poetry or performance is necessary.
