Helping Bereaved Children - Workshop
Thu 27 April 2017, 14:00 – 15:30 BST
One in 29 schoolchildren has been bereaved of a parent or sibling - that's a child in every class. This 1 ½ hour workshop is aimed at raising awareness about the needs of grieving children and to help increase your confidence in this area. The workshop covers:
Raising our awareness of the needs of bereaved children
Considering children’s understanding around death
Key messages from bereaved children and their families.
Taking care of ourselves.
The workshop is lead by Child Bereavement UK, who support families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement. Every year they train more than 8000 professionals, helping them to better understand and meet the needs of grieving families.
