Event description

Description

Are you an adult with a bit of spare time and a passion for technology?

Could you help children to make digital games, stories and animations?

We're holding an information session at Alfreton Library for adults to come and find out more about what we do.

Lots of children in the Alfreton Area would love to have the help of a volunteer at their local school, library or community venue. You don't have to be a computer genius to get involved and we provide free training and ongoing support.

At our information session you can:

- Program a rocket animation to fly home to Earth

- Create a scrolling name badge on a BBC micro:bit

- Find out how popular games like 'Flappy Bird' work

- Find out more about Code Club

If you can program your broadband box, download an app on your smart phone or love solving puzzles, then this information session is for you!

“I am not a computer programmer and work in digital marketing. Code Club has definitely shown me learning new digital skills isn’t hard. If the kids can do it, so can I.” Elbrie de Kock, Code Club volunteer

If you have any questions in advance of the session, please get in touch via eastmidlands@codeclub.org.uk or @codeclubemids

We look forward to meeting you there!
