Speakers

Ros Wilson, Registered Social Worker and Lead Consultant at tri.x - Ros graduated as a social worker in 2008. She worked in the children in care team in Bristol for 8 years, supporting young people in the care system and the network around them. Ros remained with Bristol but moved to be a Senior Social Worker in the kinship fostering team where she remained for 5 years until joining tri.x. Alongside her work with local authorities, she completed several fostering, adoption and kinship assessments on an independent basis.

"I have a great deal of respect and admiration for foster carers. I have witnessed how the relationships they build with children and young people, even for a short time, can transform lives. I am very passionate about ensuring foster carers (including family carers) receive the appropriate support and advice. During my time at tri.x I have completed a review of the Foster Carer Handbook, meeting with practitioners, managers and foster carers to ensure that the Handbook is as accessible and helpful as possible for carers and their support."
