Description

Apple Harvesting on Sunday 1st October, 1-3pm

For October's Community Action we have partnered once again with the wonderful Orchard project; the only national charity dedicated solely to the creation, restoration and celebration of community orchards.

We will be heading over to Stanmore straight after Sunday Assembly on October 1st to spend a few Autumnal hours harvesting apples with the wonderful Orchard Project Team.

By helping pick these delicious apples, not only will you get a great day out in London’s countryside but you will also be playing an important part in creating hand crafted cider and juice where these apples will be used. All proceeds from the sale of the juice and cider will support the planting and restoring of community orchards across London. As well as planting and restoring orchards in urban areas, The Orchard Project run training and school workshops to build the skills of local people. For more info please see www.theorchardproject.org.uk

You will need to bring a packed lunch and warm and waterproof clothing. Wellies or boots are also advisable.

We will meet at the front of the hall by the stage after Sunday Assembly then head over to Stanmore (eating our lunch on the way). If you don't intend to come to Sunday Assembly that day but would like to join us please email me at salondoncommunityaction@gmail.com to let me know. You can also get in touch via that email address with any questions or queries.

See you then!

Jamie
