Following on from the success of our 1st Hemel Hempstead Jelly on 25th May, I am delighted to let you know of the next event
A Jelly is an informal day event for freelancers, home workers and people running small businesses. The idea is to get together with likeminded people for a change of scene, to chat, exchange help and advice, work together and who knows, maybe come up with a new idea you can collaborate on.
Jelly is coworking, not networking, and is different from networking in that the aim is not to try to find new clients or to sell yourself or your business. You’ll be very unpopular at Jelly if you don’t grasp that it isn’t a selling opportunity.
I run my own Leadership consultancy and am based in Hemel Hempstead, I often work from home and thought that this would be a great way to replicate that office/team environment, meet people and still get some work done.
The South Hill Centre have kindly given us a room with tables and wifi, they would like us to make a donation towards the room which would usually be hired out at £22.50p/h, I suggest a minum of £5 which can be gift aided, but feel free to give more if you can.
As part of our thank you to them and to support the local community we ask those who come along to offer 1 hour of their time on the day to support those who are unemployed or looking to start a business.
The event will run as follows, but feel free to arrive later or leave earlier if it suits you:
9.30am - 12.30pm - Coworking
12.30pm - 1.30pm - Skills Swap - an opportunity to offer your skills to those unemployed or looking to start a business, and for you to request their expertise also.
12.30pm - 4.00pm - Coworking
There is parking to the rear of the building, but if this is full then it will be pay and display.
Come along with your laptop, your mobile phone, and whatever it is you want to work on. If you have an extension lead bring that along just incase we run out of powerpoints. Printing services are available for a fee.
Tea and coffee will be provided.
Bring along your own food or walk into Hemel Hempstead town centre for lunch.
