I have attended a Her Sanctuary wellness event before. Is this different?

Yes! We hold wellness afternoons on a variety of topics from Pregnancy to postnatal through to Menopause. Move & Restore is a taster session offered as a donation based event so we can open the event up to the whole community of women based in East London

Who is this event for?

This event is for women of all ages and backgrounds who want to take a little time to slow down, reconnect, and restore their energy. You don’t need to have tried yoga or self-massage before — everything is beginner-friendly, and you’ll be guided step by step.

What will the session include?

The afternoon will feature two practices:
Self-massage with Thaisa – simple, guided techniques to ease muscle tension, release stress, and reconnect with your body.
Beginner yoga with Sharon – a gentle, accessible class designed to help you restore balance, relax, and leave feeling grounded.

Do I need any previous experience?

Not at all. This event is designed as an introduction. If you’ve never practiced yoga before, this is a safe, friendly place to start. And if you already practice, you’ll still benefit from slowing down and revisiting the basics.

What should I bring?

A yoga mat (if you have one — let us know if you don’t, as we may be able to provide one).
Comfortable clothing you can move and relax in - layers are great.
A bottle of water.

Why is this event donation based?

We want Move & Restore to be open and accessible to as many women as possible. That’s why it’s donation-based — there’s no fixed fee. You’re welcome to give whatever feels right for you. Every contribution, large or small, helps us continue to run supportive community events like this.

Is this a full Her Sanctuary event?

This is a mini taster session — a shorter, gentler introduction to what we offer at a full Her Sanctuary gathering. It gives you the chance to experience our style of yoga, wellbeing practices, and community connection before committing to a longer event.

Where will the event take place?

Dockland Settlements Centre, E14 3PS
We’ll be in the large hall with floor to ceiling windows and views of the river. [The venue is a 5 minute walk from Island Gardens DLR and has step-free access]. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know and we’ll do our best to support you.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Booking is essential as spaces are limited.

Is this a women only event?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Her Sanctuary events are designed as safe, supportive spaces for women. This allows us to create an environment where participants feel comfortable, understood, and able to fully relax.

Question 11

Can I bring my baby or child with me?

Accepted Answer

We know childcare can sometimes be a challenge, and we completely understand how important it is for mothers to have supportive spaces. However, Move & Restore is not a baby- or child-friendly event as the practices are designed to give participants a quiet, calm environment to relax fully.
