Description

For preview tickets on Monday 15 May, head here.

A woman seeking the feeling of freedom, invisible in the eyes of society - Agave’s life has become stagnant. Her bones burning with loneliness, she goes in search of liberation. A vengeful god with a flair for the dramatic indulges her resistance to her son’s oppressive nature, and before she knows it she’s living in the wild. It’s women only, and as they unite in ecstatic transcendence, Agave begins to lose her grip on reality.

By Jove co-artistic director SJ Brady performs her reimagining of Euripides' devastating tragedy of ecstasy and violence, The Bacchae. The second installment in By Jove's Season of Violent Women, Here She Comes follows the European premiere of Margaret of Anjou (November 2016).

The Gallery on the Corner has moved from Battersea! It's now located two minutes walk from Tooting Bec tube station. The venue - and, most importantly, the bar - opens an hour before each day's first performance. Please note that the bar is cash only.

One last thing...

When you arrive, you'll find that the Gallery on the Corner has been transformed into a forest - so dress appropriately! We recommend that you bring along whatever you want to sit on: cushions, towels, picnic rugs, whatever you fancy. Please note that there is some limited seating available, but this will be prioritised for those less able to sit on the floor or stand.
