Start something incredible this May!
With the lighter evenings and the spring sunshine, National Walking Month is a great time to join in– and achieve something incredible. You can take on a free Walk in May challenge, walk just 2.5 miles per day and you can clock up an amazing 1000 mile total in 12 months from the day you start. It’s an incredible achievement that feels even better.
Sustrans Cathedral Gardens Active Travel Hub programme is funded through Belfast City Council by the Public Health Agency (PHA) and Ulster University to engage all communities in the Cathedral Gardens area – workplaces, university residents and people that use the area for leisure.
The aim of the programme is to promote and encourage active travel such as walking, cycling and use of public transport as part of the daily work or community commute to improve physical and mental wellbeing and to contribute to a greener environment.
The programme delivers a wide range of free events, confidence boosting activities, cycle training, information, advice and personal support to help people to make small but sustainable changes to their daily travel habits and leave the car behind more. https://www.sustrans.org.uk/our-blog/projects/2019/northern-ireland/active-travel-hubs/
