About this event
Two days led legal green road trail bike riding in the superb Welsh Hills and beyond for Trail Riders Fellowship members only.
Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st September
(Arrive anytime after 2pm on Friday 20th is the norm for most)
The Herefordshire TRF group members once again invite all Trail Riders Fellowship members only for a weekend of fun, being led for two days on the legal green roads in Wales and beyond.
A large proportion of the proceeds will be donated to the St Micheal's Hospice
This our ninth year running the Hereford Hospice Trail and with your entries we hope to raise yet another considerable donation.
You will be guided and tailed in small groups by our own Herefordshire TRF volunteer group members on the Saturday and Sunday and you have the option to select which distance group you would like to be enter in when purchasing a ticket.
IMPORTANT
Check with your friends which numbered and distance group they are going to select before purchasing a ticket.
Then you can have the company of your beloved trailly biking friends by choosing the same group as them.
When selecting a ticket please be advised to consider carefully your own ability for being able to cover this challenging terrain over that distance. A route in this area can be a totally different terrain to what you are used to in other counties. We have hills, rocks, gulleys, fallen trees mud and sometimes deep water crossings.
ADVANCED group riders are not going to be stopping for long breaks and just want to crack on and get it done.Pace will be consistent and some very challenging lanes thrown in.Fuel and food stops on route.
A regular have a go at most things trail rider should opt for the INTERMEDIATE.Still pretty challenging and varied green roads and longer lunch and fuel stops as required.
Opt for an EASY group if you are relatively new to trail riding or you just prefer the more relaxed and scenic rideout. Plenty of stops to catch your breath and nice breaks to take in the scenic views.
In all cases your bike and yourself MUST BE road legal and effectively silenced.
Small number plates around here lead you on to spot fines of £100 and also lead to the whole group getting held up on route,so please purchase and fit a legally sized plate.(Plastic ones snap so fit an aluminium or flexible type)
In order for us to continue riding in the area it goes without saying that we MUST all be considerate to other road users and residents and the green roads we are using and abide by the TRF code of conduct.
Road legal trail and enduro bikes only.
YOU ENTER THE HEREFORD HOSPICE TRAIL AT ENTIRELY YOUR OWN RISK.
We and anyone one else involved accept no responsibility for any injuries, accidents to you us and you or others whilst out riding or at the venue under any circumstances or situation.
The first advanced group leaves at 9am on the Saturday 20th September followed by the next group at approx 15 min intervals.
Make sure you are full of fuel and have money for further fuel and food on route.(Petrol station a few hundred meters just outside the Baskerville Hall entrance) Suitable tools to repair a puncture or replace a tube/ plug e.t.c and a drink , but above all a sense of humour !
Its a fun weekend at Baskerville Hall and it provides us with a superb base to host it, in an outstanding location in Clyro near Hay on Wye.
If your partner/friend e.t.c would also like to come and enjoy the local area and amenities whilst your out and about on your bike then they are most welcome to purchase a spectator ticket.Hay On Wye is close by and offers a plethora of cafes and bookshops,e.t.c to peruse at your leisure or maybe try canoeing in the Wye ?
