Heritage and Diversity
Event Information
Description
Join us for a World Café style event on ‘Heritage and Diversity’ on 9th March 2016 at The Hub, Castlehill, Edinburgh.
Who engages with Scotland’s historic environment? Scotland’s Historic Environment Strategy, ‘Our Place in Time’ sets out the aspiration to broaden engagement with Scotland’s communities. At present the sector is predominantly white and middle class. In order to develop the appeal and share the benefits we need to make the historic environment relevant to the widest range of people and the conference aims to start a dialogue within the sector on how to achieve this. BEFS hope to raise the profile of this issue and highlight opportunities for practitioners.
Attendees will hear from voices that are not usually heard within the historic environment sector on what the barriers to participation are and how they have been overcome.
The event will feature the folllowing organisations, projects and speakers:
-
Jess Smith, Tinker’s Heart Campaign
-
