The Irish in the North West 1800 -1939 - Mervyn Busteed

The talk by Mervyn Busteed, who is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Irish Studies, Liverpool University, will outline how, during the first half of the nineteenth century, north-west England experienced a great influx of Irish migrants who settled particularly in Liverpool and Manchester. This impact can still be traced in the family history of its people and particularly in the urban landscape of its major cities.
