Event description

Description

Are you from a disability community group or organisation based in or around Redcar and Cleveland? Do you have an idea for a heritage project that needs support?

Thanks to National Lottery players, the Heritage Lottery Fund is able to help people enjoy and protect the heritage they care about. We’ve funded many projects involving disabled people and celebrating disability heritage and we want to help fund more.

On 12th December, the Heritage Lottery Fund is coming to 25K Youth and Community Centre, Redcar to host a two hour workshop for disability groups and organisations interested in applying for funding.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Find out what makes a perfect application

  • Learn about our diverse range of grant programmes

  • Hear the stories behind our successfully funded projects

  • Meet heritage stakeholders and disability organisations from the area

  • Get expert advice from HLF Officers on any heritage project ideas you may have

Refreshments will be avaliable on arrival at 12.45pm for a 1.00pm start.

Please note: Spaces are limited so we do ask that you book in advance to ensure your place. Unfortunately we can only accept two representatives from each group or organisation

Accessibility: The 25K Youth and Community Centre is fully accessible with the workshop taking place in the training room on the ground floor. The venue has car parking on site with disabled parking spaces available.

If you do have any requirements regarding accessibility or further queries about the event please contact Kate Duffy via email (kate.duffy@hlf.org.uk) or telephone (0191 255 7576) and we will do our best to help.

Not sure whether this event is right for you? Why not read some of project snapshots to get a flavour of what we have supported already:

Newcastle Vision Support helped visually impaired volunteers investigated the 150-year-old history of their society to learn more about blind heritage in the North East.

Digital Voice for Communities supported volunteers and people with learning disabilities to explore Winlaton’s ironworking heritage.
