You will see a glass wedding dress, find wine glasses engraved with secret but sensitive political statements, view a mosaic highlighting the history of glass making and laugh at a musical joke. You will also learn the history of Prof Turner who began life in 1882 as a sickly child in a working-class family in the ‘Black Country’ but who became an internationally renowned expert in Glass in all its forms.

Visitors should meet at the Turner Museum entrance for the beginning of the tour.

Please note that the event times have been set 15 minutes prior to start of the tour to allow time for check-in - tours will begin on the hour.

Finding the Turner Museum

Enter the University site through GATE 1 opposite the entrance to the multistorey car park; you will see a tall building (the Sir Robert Hadfield Building) in front of you.
