As part of Black History Month all are invited to a heritage walk at Abney Park to the resting place of Joanna, daughter of Olaudah Equiano.

About this Event

As part of Black History Month everyone is invited to a heritage walk to the resting place of Joanna, wife of Henry Bromley, and daughter of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa, The African, best-selling author and abolitionist.

The event also celebrates the 230th anniversary of his book, The Interesting Narrative, which was published in 1789, and which is included in the top 100 non-fiction books of all times (The Guardian Newspaper,  31st December 2017).

The walk is led by Arthur Torrington, Director of The Equiano Society and is hosted by Abney Park Trust.
