About this event

Jules Gleeson’s HERMAPHRODITE LOGIC is a bold examination of the intracicies of intersex liberation. In it, Gleeson uses the history of the intersex liberation movement to provide a historical counterfactual to binary understandings of sex. In a contemporary landscape plagued by an emphasis on 'right reproduction,' what can hermaphrodite logic teach us about the malleability of both sex and gender?Join us for a conversation between black feminist writer Lola Olufemi and Jules Gleeson thinking about the relevance this logic has in opposing emergent gender fascism, understanding the historical materiality of gender as a regime and bolstering anti-fascist movements in the UK and across the world.
