After the huge success of #Stretch4Syria Yogathon and Stretch4Syria Yoga Picnic earlier this year, events which raised close to £3500 for Syrian refugees, Hero Yoga returns with #Stretch4Syria Yoga Stars!
Saturday December 10th 2016
10:30am until 2:30pm
With news in the past weeks of the break up of the Calais 'Jungle' camps, in which hundreds of young children are living, without their families, and as the weather is turning bitterly cold, our concerns are for those who are so vulnerable, sleeping out in the elements, without shelter and with little hope for rehoming whilst they are at the mercy of the political system.
We are gathering to raise funds to send out to support these children. This is a unique event designed for parents and their little stars. Your £25 donation is a ticket to join us whilst we lead parents through mediation, breath work and gentle asana, finishing with a wonderfully calming Yoga Nidra (rest!!) at the end. This class is designed for all levels, so please feel free to attend, even if you have never tried yoga before!
Meanwhile your little stars will be enjoying a specially designed kids yoga class, and creative play session, finishing with a relaxation exercise.
Yoga will be followed by biscuit decorating, ideal for hanging on your christmas tree as a reminder of the day. Whilst all this creativity is taking place, we will be preparing a lunch of lovely winter warming soup and bread.
For more info about who will be leading your yoga and creative play, please head to the Hero Yoga website:

As well as saving lives, the White Helmets deliver public services to nearly 7 million people, including reconnecting electrical cables, providing safety information to children and securing buildings. They are the largest civil society organisation operating in areas outside of government control, and their actions provide hope for millions.
Humming Bird UK
Humming Bird Project are a team of volunteers who enter refugee camps to offer a safe space to children living in these incredibly stressful conditions. Art therapy helps children find some time away from their dire situations to be children again. Humming Bird Project also send volunteers to the refugee camps to help in much needed areas of health care and to help prepare food.
The project has raised over £27,000, which has gone directly to helping refugees in the direst of situations, giving shelter, medical attention and hope in Calais and Dunkirk.”
#Stretch4Syria Yogastars is sponsored in part by Yoga Alliance International and by the Bath House Community Centre.
